Remainders
*The bad thing about the auto-correct feature in MS Word is that I'll keep spelling it "guidence" and never learn the right way to spell the damn word.

*Why do they sell reading glasses in the drug store, but not cheap throw-away glasses for those of us who are nearsighted?

*I'm going to be traveling so much in the coming months! I'm going to St. Louis next weekend, and Nevada desert via Los Angeles at the end of August. And it's looking good that I'll be traveling to San Francisco, and maybe even LA and Chicago, in September and October. And I've never even been to California before!

Pop Music, Documentaries & Pee Wee
*Like Rebecca Traister, I was touched for the very first time on Wednesday night. My life has been bisected: life before I saw Madonna, and life after I saw Madonna. ... OK, that's a complete exaggeration, but it was a fun show. (And besides, I first saw Madonna outside a movie theater on 42nd St. in 2000.)

*Coworker Claire recommended Grey Gardens. I loved it! And discovered that it has a cult following. I had no idea! Why didn't someone tell me about this before? It was a musical here in NYC this spring, and I read somewhere that it will be returning in the fall. (I want to go!) And, they're even making a movie about these women, starring Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. (Drew Barrymore seems a weird choice.) And! Follow-up The Beales of Grey Gardens is playing Friday night at the IFC! (I want to go!)

*Claire also recommended Fast, Cheap and Out of Control. Another great pick! I'm going to be consulting this woman for movie recommendations on a regular basis.

*Seeing Clerks II made me download this song [iTunes link]. It's been on repeat all day. I'd forgotten what a good song that is! I downloaded two other Smashing Pumpkins songs today.

*Pee Wee's Big Adventure, under the Brooklyn Bridge, Thursday night, July 27.

*Will Shortz on the Lure of Sudoku

*Washington Post Sudoku
The coolest online version I've seen [via woman I met in Atlanta]

*Playing Sudoku is like meditating for me. My mind has to focus, relax and be present, but not actually thinking about anything. Tetris makes me feel the same way. But I've never had a Sudoku dream.

Never Say Never
Remember when I said I'd never go naked on a nude beach?

Yeah, forget that.

Now I can cross nude beach and skinny dipping off the "Do Before I Die" checklist.

50 Days Until the Man Burns
It's been a while since I last posted, so I've decided to give you this, The Post With Leftovers! It's too much to read at once, so come back later when you're bored and looking for something fun to click on. If you use Bloglines, savvy surfer, mark this as new.

And June By the Numbers will be posted, just as a record of some of my basics, anyway. ... I been busy. Thanks for sticking with me. I like you even more than my new sewing machine lightbulb and Ain't No Other Man. Combined. Yeah.
