*I'm behind on this one, but I have discovered the beauty of ourTunes. Rock. *Where have my stories gone? They're still happening, I'm just not posting them here. I'm very OK with that, and I prefer it this way. I said to someone last night that I'm happy to have stories that are too good and too personal to post. In case you're wondering, life is very good and exciting! (I even wrote an essay about this a few months ago. But I never posted it here.) *My job cracks me up sometimes. Yesterday I made a note for a meeting that said "Good stuff: dying." And just now I was looking at an SEO report: # average penis size Drill | Popup #### Come on. That's funny.

SXW 400 Learn to Sew Like a Pro I
This basic sewing workshop teaches professional techniques employed in the fashion business for you to use at home. Utilizing the college's industrial equipment, you not only learn how to sew, you learn how to produce correctly finished pieces that look every bit as good as what you buy. The program includes layout, cutting, construction, and finishing of garments. Attendees use a commercial pattern to sew a pajama-style bottom long, cropped, or Capri working in cotton or cotton-type fabrics. Appropriate sewing techniques for a variety of fabrics and fabric resources are covered. Starts in a few weeks! Woo hoo!

*When will Body Worlds come to NYC? I first learned about the exhibit last year and can’t believe it hasn’t been here yet. It might gross me out, but I would definitely want to check it out if it comes here. *While taking today’s IMDb poll, I noticed that The Libertine is finally coming out. I've wondered about this movie since last year when I was obsessed with Richard Coyle. But it never came out, and I figured some studio had just abandoned it. (However, like a lot of other poll-takers, I’m most looking forward to Serenity.) *It’s been over a year since I last saw a bedbug. Hooray! However, some other bloggers are suffering today. Hang in there, Mike and Caitlin! Also, this is the best article about bedbugs that I've read in a while.

Tonight Heather and Cate are off for a three-week eastern European tour! Wooo, I'm jealous! And how cute are they? They've set up a blog to journal their trip. Ladies, have a blast! Take lots of pictures and grab me some postcards! And this is where I am going to be in three weeks! Wooo! Picture from Google Earth

Like I Need More Reasons to Love Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are producing some books I loved into movies, including two of my favorite books, all of which will be coming out in 2006. Only one has any cast information, but I'm going to be keeping my eye on how all of these progress. (These links are as much for my own reference as yours!) * The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night- Time [ book] I didn't love this book at first, but it ended up going in a direction I didn't expect, and I liked that. Thank you to Goober for recommending and lending it to me. * A Million Little Pieces [ book] James Frey has followed up this book with My Friend Leonard, about a man he met during the experiences described in A Million Little Pieces. I haven't read it yet, but I'll probably check it out at some point. * The Time Traveler's Wife [ book] A friend just read it, which is what inspired me to look up whether this might be a movie. I love love loved this book. Movie is to be directed by Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, To Die For). * Running with Scissors [ book] The news this week is that the family Augusten Burroughs writes about in his 2002 memoir is suing him for damages, all precipitated by the star-studded movie, directed by Ryan Murphy (nip/tuck).

Every Thursday night, Monty walks by. His white moustache is mesmerizing and repulsive, twisted and curled symmetrically above his liquored breath. His brown leather skin contrasts with his plentiful wavy white hair. He doesn’t carry anything, and often puts his hands in his pockets when he’s speaking. He wears a black t-shirt and baggy gray pants that give away how frail he must be underneath. In winter, he hides inside a long wool coat, never wearing a hat or scarf. I want to overuse the word pickled to describe him. Sometimes he’s chatty. He told me about his crowded apartment. He said he likes to buy things like artwork and crystal lamps. Expensive things. Breakable things. I hope he doesn’t stumble home some night and crash into antiques in the dark. Maybe he already has. Sometimes he’s grabby. And sometimes he’ll shake your hand with both hands and look at you with wet eyes and pursed lips. Then he shuffles down the sidewalk, like drunk old men do, on his way to listen to Cuban music at a club down the block.

*I did hear her right: When Claire was fighting about the war with her date Ted, she called him a "redneck blogger pig." Too funny. * UPDATE: redneckbloggerpig.blogspot.com*I cried while watching the preview for next week's episode. Can't wait.
