Singer 221-1
I am on vacation in my hometown with my family. I have a lot to catch you up on, but it's not going to be now. (It's probably not going to be later either, to be honest.)

However, I'm so excited about this, I am interrupting my trip to show you my new favorite thing in the whole wide world:

It was my grandma's. Apparently, my dad had thought there was an old microscope in the case, but when I opened it in the basement this morning, I nearly lost my mind when I saw what was really inside.

This thing is so cool, I don't even know where to begin. It's in amazing condition; it works; it's tiny; it's got a lot (all?) of the original attachments and instructions; and even the case is in super condition. I love the gold details, none of which is scratched off anywhere; the bobbin, which is on the side instead of inside the base; the rubber thingy that makes it all spin around; and the attachments, oh the attachments! There's an adjustable hemmer, multiple slotted binder, an edge stitcher, and a ruffler. My aunt, a former home economics teacher, told me some of the things that these attachments can do. My imagination is going crazy with ideas.

My dad couldn't figure out why I'm so excited about it, and maybe you can't either. That's perfectly OK with me.

I have to call the airline. Do you think I can carry on a sewing machine?
